The Elmwood Volunteer Fire Department serves one of the largest districts in Texas - and since we're so spread out, the more members of the community that know CPR (cardio-pulmonary resuscitation) the safer we'll all be.

There are many sites on the web where you can take online CPR training.  Many of these sites, such as CPR&FirstAid.Net offer free online training.  The only thing they charge for is the certification test.

While certification is a fine thing, and we plan future community training within the District, the key thing to get is the knowledge.

Because Elmwood is such a spread out district, response times are much longer than you might experience in a major urban area - so the more you learn, the more likely you'll be able to keep the ones you love alive while help is on the way.  That's why we strongly encourage residents to "Take 20-minutes to save a Life - Learn CPR!"
